Introduction. Modern gerontology and geriatrics offer a wide range of specialized questionnaires for in-depth assessment of geriatric status. However, their routine use requires specialized training, necessitating the development of screening tools that can assess the functional capacity of elderly patients under time-sensitive conditions. The ICOPE (Integrated Care for Older People) questionnaire, proposed by the World Health Organization for screening studies, allows for an assessment of the functional capacity of older adults, but is limited in its assessment of key vital signs. To provide an in-depth assessment of the functional status of older adults, taking into account regional socio-environmental factors, the screening questionnaire «Study of the Functional Status of Elderly People in Ingushetia» has been proposed. Objective. To develop a screening questionnaire, «Study of the Functional Status of Elderly People in Ingushetia», to assess the functional capacity of older adults using a domain-based approach and taking into account regional characteristics. Materials and Methods. The authors developed a screening questionnaire, «Study of the Functional Status of Elderly People in Ingushetia» constructed using a domain-based approach and including additional parameters to assess the functionality of older adults in specific social and environmental conditions. Results and discussion. The developed screening questionnaire, «Study of the functional status of older adults in Ingushetia» includes parameters for assessing the functionality of older adults in the main domains of individual capacity: cognitive, psychological, motor, nutritional, sensory, and somatic. It is supplemented with questions to assess social and environmental living conditions and identify discrimination. Conclusion. The developed screening questionnaire is a methodological tool for determining the functional status of older adults and is recommended for use in the region.
