Gerontological ageism is considered as social phenomenon that reduces the quality of care for elderly and senile people who live permanently in gerontological institutions. An effective means of overcoming ageism can be considered modern information about the therapeutic environment, which increases the degree of functional ability and dignity of older people. The formation of a therapeutic environment in a gerontological institution should be differentiated depending on the state of health of people of older age groups. Analysis of the presence, severity, and combination of geriatric syndromes allowed us to divide all patients into clinical and rehabilitation geriatric groups, taking into account their belonging to which a differentiated therapeutic environment is proposed, which can be considered as a method of overcoming ageism.
