The analysis of a modern condition of a problem of frailty as the characteristics of the patient´s health of the elderly and senile age, which reflects the need for care. Considered the issues of definition, classification, clinical picture, diagnosis, prevention of frailty. Presented aspects of the relationship between frailty and disability, frailty and other age-related diseases. The submitted materials can be used by health care institutions and social care to improve the quality of management of patients with frailty.
