According to Order No. 586 of the Ministry of Health of Russian Federation dated August 31, 2022, «On the Implementation of Principles and Standards of Client‑Centricity in the Activities of the Ministry of Health of Russian Federation», the main principle of the work of medical organizations is patient‑centredness. One of the promising elements for improving the quality of medical care in the context of this approach may be creation of so‑called «therapeutic environment». An analysis of published works, studies and regulatory documents in online resources such as CyberLeninka, PubMed, ResearchGate, Springer Nature Link, Garant and KonsultantPlus has confirmed the significance of the influence of the therapeutic environment on improving of the quality and safety of medical activities, as well as on the effectiveness of processes for preventing various diseases and for the rehabilitation of patients. Modern trends in the development of the healthcare system have been identified, including the implementation of socially significant measures that contribute to the health improvement of the population. The practical significance of the analysis lies in substantiating the need for a comprehensive approach to creating a therapeutic environment and involving both medical organizations and the administrations of cities and settlements in this process. The effectiveness of such initiatives has been confirmed by numerous studies, as well as by the increased attention they receive at the government level, which is reflected in the content of the programs of various national projects.
