The article presents the authors' reflections on the current trends in the development of gerontology and geriatrics, the concepts of healthy aging, intrinsic capacity and living environment. The expediency of allocating a new domain of intrinsic capacity – aesthetic – is substantiated, which can potentially serve as the basis for the formation of a new interdisciplinary field of aesthetic gerontology.
