The article presents the concept of a new scientific field, social peptidology, which is based on the participation of peptide-based hormones, as exemplified by oxytocin, in the strength and quantity of social connections, which are formed in the early neonatal period in the child-mother system and determine the epigenetic landscape throughout the human life cycle.
