In most countries around the world, heart and vascular diseases remain the leading cause of death. The key to combating cardiovascular complications (CVCs) is identifying patients at high risk and implementing preventive measures. Arterial hypertension is a leading risk factor for heart and vascular diseases and mortality, and it is a major contributor to accelerated vascular aging. It is important to note that vascular aging is not limited to older individuals. It is a long-term process that begins in youth. This paper collects and summarizes data from the last two decades on the impact of high blood pressure on the premature aging of the vascular system. The article focuses on the analysis of the results of clinical trials on the effects of various groups of antihypertensive drugs and their role not only in preventing cardiovascular catastrophes, but also as cellular chronoblockers in the prevention of cardiac aging.
