Aging is a factor that increases the likelihood of developing most of chronic non-communicable diseases. It influences the development and progression of these diseases, which can negatively impact patients' health. As a result, these diseases become proxy diseases of the aging, acting as intermediaries between physiological and pathological processes. These diseases include dementia, coronary heart disease, and ischemic stroke. The goal of geriatric rehabilitation is not primarily to restore “normal” movement patterns, but to provide “simpler,” less organized movements to achieve optimal mobility, self-care, and independence in daily life for each individual patient. In the context of counteracting oxidative stress induced by ischemic processes in human tissues, exogenous support of the antioxidant system is essential. This can be achieved through the use of compounds with neuroprotective, cardiomyoprotective, and hepatoprotective activity. Proresilients are a source of such substances and are known as "cellular chronoblockers."
