The article presents a review of the literature data on the prevention of falls syndrome among the elderly. According to the World Health Organization, approximately 28-35% of people aged 65 and older fall annually and the prevalence of falls syndrome increases to 32-42% among people over 70 years old. In all countries of the world, this geriatric syndrome remains one of the most widespread, while there is a stable tendency for the deterioration of the geriatric status of the country's population. Preventive measures for the syndrome of falls are one of the topical problems for all countries of the world. Based on the results of the analysis, effective drug and non-drug measures were described to reduce the prevalence of falls syndrome in old age.
