Summary:
The problem of loneliness due to social distancing and social disunity due to measures in the era of a new pandemic dictates the need for a more detailed study of the factors that affect the deterioration of the quality of life and functional status. The authors present the results of studying the loneliness in elderly people as a bio-psycho-social phenomenon. It was revealed that one of the trigger factors triggering the cascade of bio-psycho-social changes in loneliness is a motivational and behavioral decrease in nutrition, which leads to a compromise of the nutritional status and triggers neuroimmunoendocrine changes, in particular, a decrease in the production of anti-inflammatory cytokines. In combination with anthropometric changes, the most significant role belongs to dinapenia and a decrease in body mass index, and a high level of anxiety, this leads to a decrease in the quality of life and functional ability, a high degree of preservation of which determines the formation of Healthy aging.
