THE RESILIENCE-GYM IN COMPLEX COGNITIVE REHABILITATION PROGRAMS

Summary:
Cognitive impairment associated with aging strongly affects the daily life in elderly people. This article examines a complex of modern cognitive rehabilitation programs, which is a set of measures aimed at improving the functional state of the cognitive spheres (memory, attention, thinking, praxis, regulatory functions) and providing better adaptation to the conditions of everyday life. Many studies have shown that the combined use of cognitive and physical exercise is feasible and beneficial for improving memory and functional status in older adults. And one of these elements of the combined complex program is resilience-gym, which consists of five components: 1) providing aerobic activity, 2) providing anaerobic activity, 3) exercises to stabilize the balance function, 4) exercises to protect cognitive functions, 5) additional practices (breathing exercises, face-building and more). The Resilience-gym developed by the team of authors within three months of its implementation leads to an increase in muscle strength, an increase in walking speed, stabilization of balance function, an improvement in cognitive status, an improvement in sleep quality, a decrease in the severity of anxiety and depression, and is also necessary to combat social isolation of the elderly. people that negatively affects their quality of life.
