Summary:
This article examines the biological effects of flavonoid preparations. In particular, the article presents the results of a study on the pleiotropic effects of metabolic therapy in the form of preparations of diosmin and hesperidin, which are used to treat patients with chronic venous diseases, drugs of Ginko biloba, which are most often used in geriatrics and are included in standardized treatment regimens. The study proved that the potential biological activity of Ginkgo biloba is due to antioxidant, neuroprotective and anti-ischemic effects in cerebrovascular disorders and glucose tolerance disorders. Data on the activity of diosmin and hesperidin as drugs with anti-inflammatory and lipid-lowering effects were obtained.
