Summary:
This article gives results of a study of energy metabolism at sarcopenic obesity in old age. Analysis of adaptation indicators in humans of elderly, depending on the presence or absence of sarcopenia and obesity showed, that in practically healthy elderly people there is a normal level adaptation, in obese people - stress of adaptation, in people with sarcopenia are poor adaptation, and in people with sarcopenic obesity - failure adaptation. With sarcopenia and obesity, there is a deficit in high-energy phosphate bonds, which indicates the presence of an energy deficient state, reaching the maximum in people with sarcopenic obesity. In obese people for compensation of energy deficiency by increasing the processes of glycolysis, which is manifested by an increase in the activity of the enzyme LDH, but with sarcopenia and sarcopenic obesity, this sanogenetic compensation mechanism is depleted.
Keywords sarcopenia, sarcopenic obesity, obesity, adaptation, energy metabolism, energy deficient state, elderly people.
