The article discusses the features of the organization of cancer care to patients of elderly who suffer from stomach cancer, from the point of view of the organization of appropriate care, the provision of high-quality psychological and social support, creating a safe and comfortable environment in the hospital and at home. The aim of the study was to investigate the actual level of knowledge in the field of gerontology and geriatrics non-experts of oncology service - participants in the process of patient care elderly suffering from stomach cancer. To assess the level of knowledge in the field of gerontology and geriatrics non-experts of oncology service - participants in the process of patient care elderly suffering from stomach cancer, conducted a comprehensive testing in several categories non-experts on a specially designed questionnaire using a 100-point scale assessment, including: junior medical staff onkodispansere Nursing - 35 people; social workers - 39 people; professional psychologists - 40 people; relatives of elderly patients suffering from stomach cancer - 45 people. This study found the lack of knowledge in all fields of gerontology and geriatrics non-experts all the studied categories. It is concluded that there is a problem of lack of expertise in this area of knowledge and the need for special educational programs of postgraduate education with wide involvement in the educational process studied categories non-experts of oncology service.
