TRITTICO IN COMPLEX TREATMENT OF ARTERIAL HYPERTENSION IN THE ELDERLY

Summary:
Arterial hypertension (AH) is one of the most common human diseases, which has acquired the character of a pandemic. Epidemiological studies conducted in different regions of Russia, CIS and Europe over the last 20 years indicate that hypertension occurs in approximately 30-40% of the adult population. One of the aspects of the course of hypertension in the elderly is the rapid development of vascular lesions of the brain with the formation of depressive reactions, significantly reducing the quality of life of the elderly. The purpose of this study - to study the effectiveness of the drug trazodone ("Trittiko" firm «Angelini», Italy) in treatment of elderly patients with hypertension. Based on this study, it was found, the inclusion of the drug Trittico in to the complex therapy of elderly people with arterial hypertension contributed to the development of both the direct effect of antidepressant and reduction of somatic manifestations of the combination of hypertension and depression, such as hemodynamic reaction, the feeling of heartbeat. Together, this led to the improvement of the quality of life of elderly patients with arterial hypertension.
